Exemption Exams
Composition Exemption Exams
Students can opt to take waiver exams for first-year (e.g. ENG 151) and junior composition courses. Both exams are timed essays that will be administered by a proctor on a pre-announced day and time. On the day of the test, students will be given a short reading followed by a writing prompt.
The exams are offered early in fall, winter, and spring quarters. For more information, contact Melanie Lee at 597-1313.
PLEASE NOTE:
The next Freshman and Junior Composition Exemption Exams will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009.
Students must be pre-registered in order to take either exam. Registration is free but typically occurs between 9-5 in the first week of the quarter at the Faculty Commons which is located on the 3rd Floor of Alden Library.
